The undefeated lightweight was set to face Donald Cerrone at UFC 187 before he was forced out of the highly anticipated bout due to suffering another injury.
Fans of Khabib Nurmagomedov will have to wait a little bit longer for his return as the 26-year-old has fallen victim to the dreaded injury bug and is now out of his bout with Donald Cerrone on May 23rd at UFC 187.
The 22-0 Dagestani was scheduled to fight 'Cowboy' to decide who would face newly crowned champion Rafael dos Anjos for his belt, but reports suggest he's injured his knee again and has been ruled out of the event. The two 155lb'ers were originally set to fight each other last September at UFC 178, however, Nurmagomedov tore his ACL in his right knee and spent the rest of 2014 on the sidelines. A replacement opponent for Cerrone has yet to be announced by the promotion.
This is the second major blow UFC 187Â has suffered this week, as former UFC 205lb champion Jon Jones was stripped of his title and taken off the card after he was arrested for hit-and-run charges and was replaced by Daniel Cormier.
