A third championship fight has been added to¬†the stacked Bellator: Dynamite (Bellator 142) card¬†in the form of a pro kickboxing bout between¬†Glory featherweight champ Gabriel Varga and challenger¬†Serhiy Adamchuck.
The event is set to take place¬†September 19th at¬†the SAP Center in San Jose, California. It will be headlined by a Bellator light heavyweight title fight between¬†Tito Ortiz and¬†champion¬†Liam McGeary.
Varga most recently defeated top-ranked featherweight¬†Mosab Amrani at Glory 20 on¬†April 3rd via unanimous decision to capture the vacant title.
Adamchuk earned his upcoming title shot following an impressive debut at Glory 22 on¬†June 5th, coming in on 24 hours notice to beat lightweight contender¬†Marat Grigorian via decision in one of the biggest upsets of the year¬†thus far.
The show will be a landmark event in Bellator's history as it will showcase the promotion's usual pro MMA bouts along with kickboxing bouts from top kickboxing promotion Glory.
The card will also feature¬†a kickboxing bout between¬†Zack Mwekassa and¬†Saulo Cavalari ¬†for the vacant Glory light heavyweight championship, as well as a¬†four-man, one-night light heavyweight tournament to determine a next challenger to the Bellator title. The participants will be¬†Phil Davis, Emanuel Newton, Linton Vassell and Muhammed 'King Mo' Lawal.
