Jack McGann is hunting another knockout tonight in Russia as he takes on Levan Makashvili at Fight Nights Global 62.

The Liverpool lightweight has lit up the Russian promotion and is looking for his third win at the Sports Palace Krylatskoe in Moscow. Fighting out of the famous Wolfslair Academy, he was recruited from BAMMA and has improved his record to 11-3, with every win coming via stoppage.

“Anyone who wants to watch fights and watch me perform has got to respect it and enjoy it, because I go out there and I’m not looking for points,” he says. “I just try and knock you out and put on a really entertaining fight. It’s what the people pay for and it’s what they get.”

‘The Pilgrim’ is one of Fight Nights’ standout Western imports with his only loss to then 19-1 Murad Machaev on his home turf of Dagestan. His other two victories have ended by emphatic knockout.

“I think I’ve had a good variety of opponents in Fight Nights. The first guy I fought, Abdulla Dadaev. He’s like the new hot stud coming through. He was an explosive striker and great submission fighter, too. I didn’t really know what I was walking into because it was the first one in Russia, but I beat him. The next guy was a pure Dagestani wrestler who wasn’t bothered about having a boring fight. He’s just all about winning so he just lay on top of me. The next guy was a striker again.”

He anticipates a return to form against his opponent tonight. Though the Georgian has UFC experience, earning a win, a draw and a loss in three Octagon fights, McGann feels he is the more dynamic fighter, which should help him to claim another decisive victory.

He explains: “Makashvili has good experience all over. He fought in the UFC, he had a respectable record in the UFC and just beat the top guy in Fight Nights – the top featherweight – but looking at his skillset he’s OK everywhere, but he’s not great anywhere either, so he’s an all-rounder. I think his strengths are that he’s a durable, experienced man. On the night, nothing’s going to surprise me.”
