Mackenzie Dern announced her pregnancy and has put her fighting career – both in MMA and in BJJ on hold indefinitely.
Dern took to Instagram to share the news along with boyfriend Wesley Santos, a Brazilian professional surfer.
Dern, undefeated as a strawweight in MMA with a record of 7-0, hasn’t fought in the UFC since May. She is, of course, the daughter of decorated Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt Wellington “Megaton” Dias.

”God makes everything so perfect,” Dern wrote in a statement. “I am so happy to be able to share this news! I’m going to be a mom! I love so much our family and now I have one more huge motivation for inside and outside the ring!! Thank you God for this blessing.”

Dern competed in Legacy FC, LFA and Invicta before heading to the UFC. In her two UFC bouts, Dern has defeated Ashley Yoder and Amanda Cooper.
