Jorge Masvidal’s knockout victory over Ben Askren is nominated for the Knockout of the Year in the 12th annual World MMA Awards.
It took just five seconds for Jorge Masvidal to earn his Knockout of the Year nomination when he ended Ben Askren with a flying knee at UFC 239.
One year ago today at UFC 239, @GamebredFighter knocked out Ben Askren in 5 seconds making it the fastest KO in UFC history 🦵

Askren was rendered unconscious in an instance as soon as Masvidal’s knee landed flush on his head.
Masvidal’s follow-up punches were instinctive and perhaps not required as his opponent was clearly knocked out, though “Gamebred” would dispute that they were “super necessary.”
This victory really put Masvidal’s name on the map in an unforgettable 2019 for the 17-year fight veteran and earned him the fastest ever KO in UFC history, ending his brief rivalry with Askren in emphatic style.
Is Jorge Masvidal’s flying knee KO win over Ben Askren your Knockout of the Year?
