Jairzinho Rozenstruik got his wish.
After his knockout win over Augusto Sakai two weeks ago, Rozenstruik called for a fight with fellow heavyweight Curtis Blaydes for his next Octagon outing.
It was first reported by MMA Fighting that the pair have both verbally agreed to the bout at UFC 266.
UFC 266 is set to take place on September 25 at a venue that has yet to be confirmed at the time of writing.
Suriname’s Rozenstruik is 2-2 in his last four fights, trading wins with former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos and Augusto Sakai with losses to today’s UFC heavyweight king Francis Ngannou and rising contender Ciryl Gane.
In his eight-fight UFC run, former kickboxer Rozenstruik has also defeated top names such as Alistair Overeem and Andre Arlovski.
As for Blaydes, the wrestler will be looking to bounce back from his disappointing KO loss to former title challenger Derrick Lewis in February.
Before that, the American was on a four-fight winning run that saw him victorious against Alexander Volkov, dos Santos, Shamil Abdurakhimov and Justin Willis.
