The UFC bantamweight division might just be the most exciting weight class in the UFC right now, and at UFC 276, a pivotal clash for one of the promotion’s top up-and-coming talents will play a starring role on the main card in Las Vegas.
“Sugar” Sean O’Malley has been earmarked for superstardom ever since he earned a UFC contract with a stunning performance on Dana White’s Contender Series, and the slick bantamweight has certainly looked the part so far in his UFC career.
Now the time has come for him to be moved up in competition and on Saturday night he’ll take on No. 10-ranked veteran Pedro Munhoz, an exciting Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt with knockout power and a penchant for exciting, crowd-pleasing wars.
It’s the biggest test of O’Malley’s UFC career as he faces a hard-hitting contender, with victory likely to propel him toward the division’s top names. But a win for Munhoz will catapult him back towards a bout with a top contender.
