The stars of UFC London weren’t short of a word or two as they shared their views following their respective bouts at The O2 Arena.
The biggest and undoubtedly most important post-fight comments came from Paddy Pimblett, who revealed what had been weighing heavily on his heart during the weekend, as he implored men around the world to open up about their problems following the tragic suicide of his friend on Thursday night.
There was no shortage of passion from Pimblett’s teammate Molly McCann, who used her post-fight mic time to give thanks to the people who paid their hard-earned money to support her and her friend Pimblett in their careers.
She then led 18,000 fans in an x-rated chant against the UK government’s ruling Conservative “Tory” party.
It was a big night for Nikita Krylov, who blasted his way past Alexander Gustafsson in just 67 seconds, and used his improving English skills to issue an octagon callout to a light heavyweight who picked up a victory of his own earlier in the night, Volkan Oezdemir.
As for Oezedmir, his win may not have been the most exciting to watch, but the victory was a hugely important one for the Swiss, as he explained to Michael Bisping after his fight with Paul Craig.
The co-main event was also a somewhat lacklustre affair, but saw an important victory claimed by Jack Hermansson, who defeated short-notice replacement Chris Curtis.
The final post-fight interview of the night was a low-key one, as Bisping met with Curtis Blaydes after his abruptly-halted main event bout with Tom Aspinall, who suffered a fight-ending knee injury after just 15 seconds.
