UFC 280 returns to Abu Dhabi with a dynamite card of fights, with a battle for the undisputed UFC lightweight title set to play a starring role.
The main event will see former lightweight champion – and the man many are viewing as the real champ – Charles Oliveira, as he takes on surging contender Islam Makhachev. It’s a fight that pits two of the best grappling specialists in the UFC head to head, with the undisputed lightweight title on the line.
It’s Makhachev’s first crack at UFC gold, and he’ll be looking to claim the title once held by his friend, training partner and mentor, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Oliveira. meanwhile, will be looking to make a statement as he bids to continue his winning run and recapture the title he never lost in the octagon.
