The action returns to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas as a pair of strawweight contenders go head to head in the main event of UFC Vegas 73.
Mackenzie Dern and Angela Hill come into the bout from very different martial arts backgrounds – Dern is a decorated former BJJ champion, while Hill’s roots lie in the striking arts. But now they’re about to share the Octagon in an important clash for both athletes.
Dern is looking to bounce back from a majority decision defeat to Yan Xiaonan last October. The Brazilian has lost two of her last three as she looks to move up the women’s strawweight division from her current ranking position of No. 8.
Hill has enjoyed better form of late. The UFC’s 14th-ranked strawweight is riding a two-fight win streak thanks to decision wins over Loopy Godinez and Emily Ducote. Victory over Dern should see “Overkill” catapulted into the division’s top 10.
