Brave Combat Federation will return to Colombia on August 12, as the headliner of the Brave Pan-American Combat Week, the first edition of the largest combat sports festival to take place in Latin America. And Brave CF president Mohammed Shahid is excited by the return of the most global MMA organization to Bogota.
Brave CF will be front and center in the celebrations of Bogota’s 485th anniversary, as the city’s administration continues its vision to empower and celebrate sports by bringing international events to Colombia’s capital, as well as helping local athletes by giving them a global platform to showcase their talents in international competition to further their skillsets.
Shahid has hailed the efforts from the City of Bogota in bringing Brave CF to Colombia, and says that the martial arts festival will play a pivotal role in the city’s summer schedule.
“We are very happy to be returning to Colombia, and specifically to Bogota,” said Shahid.
“The city’s administration has been truly amazing in bringing the most global MMA organization in the world to its city, and we believe that the Brave Pan-American Combat Week will play a pivotal role in the city’s summer schedule.
“This will be a momentous occasion for the sport in Latin America and Bogota will be at the forefront of the martial arts community worldwide between August 10 and August 13.”
Brave CF 73, which headlined the week-long martial arts festival, will feature a world title fight in its main event.
It will be the first time a mixed martial arts world title fight is contested on Colombian soil. Mexican-American Jose “Shorty” Torres takes on South Africa’s Nkosi Ndebele for the vacant bantamweight world title, while Brazil’s Flavio Queiroz faces Zach Makovsky, from the United States, in a pivotal bout for the flyweight division.
