Former kickboxing superstar Cedric Doumbe now has a confirmed date for his PFL debut.
The Frenchman will make his PFL bow at the PFL Europe Playoffs in Paris on September 30, where he’ll compete in the SmartCage for the first time at the event at Zenith Paris La Villette.
Doumbe’s opponent hasn’t yet been confirmed by the promotion, but PFL officials confirmed to Fighters Only that the former Glory kickboxing world champion will be on the fight card at the event, which will host the PFL Europe semi-finals.
The Paris show will feature the final four in the European light heavyweight, bantamweight, lightweight and women’s flyweight divisions, with the two winners from each weight class set to face off in the PFL Europe Finals on December 8 at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
Now, with Doumbe’s confirmed participation at the event, French fans will be even more excited about the action that is set to unfold in the French capital in September.
“There are very few martial artists that have reached the level of skill and accomplishment that Cedric Doumbe has attained during his incredible kickboxing career,” said PFL Europe’s Head of Fighter Operations Dan Hardy.
“Now as an undefeated MMA fighter, Doumbe is at the beginning of what could be a very exciting career inside the SmartCage.
“It will be amazing to have him make his PFL debut as the headliner for our European playoff event in Paris, and an opportunity for the fans to see Cedric take on the next challenge of his illustrious combat sports career.
“Doumbe’s fights are exhilarating, and his striking skills will be a challenge for every fighter in his division. If he is to rise to the top of the PFL’s welterweight division, and win the championship, he would put himself in the conversation of the best martial artists of all time.”
