One of the best heavyweights in combat sports returns to action on November 4 as Rico Verhoeven takes on Tariq Osaro for the unified Glory heavyweight title at Glory Collision 6.
The kickboxing king, who has defeated a who’s who of heavyweight strikers, including Badr Hari, Gokhan Saki, Peter Aerts and more, currently holds the Glory heavyweight title. But the Dutch ace has been away from the ring since his win over Jamal Ben Saddik at Glory Collision 3 in 2021. A planned return to action was halted by a knee injury, but now Verhoeven is ready to return.
His comeback fight couldn’t get much bigger. Osaro captured the interim heavyweight strap during Verhoeven’s extended absence as he knocked out the heavily favored Antonio Plazibat at Glory Collision 5 to claim the interim crown.
After his victory, Osaro addressed Verhoeven, who was watching from the stands, as he told him to, “Get as ready as possible. I’m coming for the title!”
Now Osaro will welcome Verhoeven back to Glory in a huge title unification bout that will see Verhoeven put his title, and his 16-fight unbeaten streak, on the line against Glory’s new knockout king.
