‘The Poster Boy’ and the ‘Skyscraper’ could be making their way up to Manchester in October as the UFC 204: Michael Bisping vs. Dan Henderson undercard starts to fill up.
MMA Fighting is reporting two undercard fights are being targeted for UFC 204, rumoured to be held in the North West of England on October 8th, although nothing has yet been made official by the promotion.
First up are two power punchers of the light heavyweight division: Jimi Manuwa vs. Ovince St Preux. Manuwa has had a frustrating 2016 battling injury and is keen to get back in the Octagon and erase the memory of a bad night at the office when he lost to Anthony Johnson via knockout last September at UFC 191.
Manuwa has been spending time at the Allstars Gym in Stockholm, Sweden, helping Alexander Gustafsson prepare for his upcoming fight with Jan Blachowicz at UFC Fight Night Hamburg. While, St Preux is also looking to get back in the win column after losing a unanimous decision against Jon Jones at UFC 197. OSP suffered a broken arm in the second round of that fight but seems to have healed up and is raring to go.
Also, Dutch heavyweight Stefan Struve will be looking to build on his 16-second knockout of Antonio Silva from earlier this year, but it won’t be easy as he is expected to take on 14-1 Ruslan Magomedov who has been part of the Russian invasion in MMA over the past few years and has yet to taste defeat since entering the Octagon.
The UFC insist a formal announcement about the card will be made soon. But if the US TV pay-per-view card is confirmed for Manchester, as expected, fans can expect a 2am start time for the main event to suit the home US audience.
