MMA veteran Martin Kampmann will be leaving his position as head coach at Team Alpha Male. The news was announced on this week’s edition of UFC Tonight.
Unlike Duane, Martin will be departing on good terms with the entire Team Alpha Male crew. He is reportedly leaving as his family does not wish to remain in Sacramento.
Although he has not officially retired from MMA competition, Kampmann has not competed since his TKO loss to current UFC welterweight title contender Carlos Condit in August 2013. He has a pro MMA record of 20-7, which includes wins over Thiago Alves, Jake Ellenberger and Rick Story.
Kampmann will be staying on as head coach until his replacement his found. Faber has already reached out to retired UFC veterans Kenny Florian and Mark Hominick.
