It’s not often a title contender is offered a shot at the belt by the reigning champion, but that’s just what’s happened in the UFC’s lightweight division after Tony Ferguson was forced out of his scheduled UFC on Fox 19 fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov.
155lb champ Rafael dos Anjos took to Twitter to call out Khabib – a former opponent of his – for a fight at UFC 200 on July 9th.
Sorry to hear Ferguson is out. @TeamKhabib We have some unfinished business, I’ll be ready in July @danawhite @lorenzofertitta #Jesusfirst

Interestingly, it’s unclear whether or not the Russian lightweight is interested in taking RDA up on his offer after defeating him in a one-sided fight two years ago.
@RdosAnjosMMA I believe it was clear to everyone last time. Or “Fake champ” title still torturing you? pic.twitter.com/Xex1N5evba

Khabib has offered to fight “anyone” at “any weight” but seems intent on his next fight taking place at UFC on Fox 19 on April 16th. The event takes place in Tampa, Florida.
