Jan Blachowicz is heading home.
On October 21 at the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland, Blachowicz will look to defeat Devin ‘Brown Bear’ Clark in front of his countrymen, the UFC announced today.
The last time the UFC rocked up in Poland it was April 2015 and, in the main event, Mirko Cro Cop was exacting revenge on Gabriel Gonzaga for a head-kick from hell. Further down the card, Blachowicz lost a unanimous decision to Britain’s Jimi Manuwa.
He hopes for better fortune on October 21. He needs it, too. Blachowicz’s fight with Clark will be his seventh in the UFC; of the six to date, he has lost four of them.
Meanwhile, Clark, a 27-year-old from South Dakota, has won his last two UFC bouts, against Josh Stansbury and Jake Collier, having been knocked out inside a round by Alex Nicholson on his UFC debut. He has yet to lose as a light-heavyweight and now looks to spoil the party for Blachowicz and Poland on October 21.
