Highly-touted French prospect Tom “Fire Kid” Duquesnoy is set to fight at Terrion Ware at UFC Fight Night 127 in London’s O2 Arena on March 17th.
This is a homecoming fight of sorts for Duquesnoy. Fire Kid made his name in British promotion BAMMA before being signed by the UFC, capturing the promotion’s featherweight and bantamweight titles,
This will be the first time Duquesnoy has fought since dropping a decision to surging bantamweight Cody Stamman at UFC 216 in October. The Stamman loss – only the second of his MMA career – was his first defeat in over four years.
Ware has lost both his UFC outings, but he should provide a stern test for Duquesnoy. The American has fought and lost two decisions to talented up-and-comers in the aforementioned Stamman and Sean O’Malley.
Boasting toughness and a penchant for fighting on the feet, both men have 14 knockouts between them – a high figure for two bantamweight competitors.
This is the kind of matchup many British fight fans have been clamouring for.
