Cody Garbrandt’s knockout victory over Raphael Assunaco is nominated for the Knockout of the Year in the 12th annual World MMA Awards.
Cody Garbrandt announced his return to the Octagon and the win column in spectacular style when he knocked out perennial bantamweight contender Raphael Assuncao in their UFC 250 bout.
With just seconds remaining of round two, Garbrandt had his back against the cage. Assuncao advanced and swung a right hook after seeing Garbrandt briefly tease changing levels.
The former UFC bantamweight champion then emphatically ended his three-fight losing run when he uncorked a blistering right hook from the hip which shut off the Brazilian’s lights in an instant, walking off before the referee stepped in to stop the contest.
Is Cody Garbrandt’s walk-off KO win over Raphael Assuncao your Knockout of the Year?
