The Bellator cage has landed in London ahead of Friday night’s Bellator 267 event at the SSE Arena at Wembley, and the main event features one of London’s own looking to exact revenge for his only career defeat.
Michael ‘Venom’ Page lost his undefeated record when he was spectacularly knocked out by Douglas Lima at Bellator 221. Now, after winning five fights in a row since that loss, the 19-1 Brit has his chance to exact revenge.
Both men have plenty of motivation heading into the bout. While Page is looking to right the wrongs of his first meeting with Lima, he’s also looking to book himself into a welterweight title fight with the current Bellator 170-pound champ, the undefeated Ukrainian Yaroslav Amosov.
Amosov won the title by defeating Lima at Bellator 260 in June, and the Brazilian is still smarting from what he described as one of his worst performances.
Now the Brazilian, who is already a three-time former welterweight champion, is looking to repeat his knockout performance over Page in an attempt to force himself back into a rematch with Amosov, and the chance to become a four-time Bellator world champion.
