It’s England vs. Ireland in Konin City, Poland as undefeated two-time IMMAF world amateur champion Muhammad Mokaev takes on SBG Ireland’s Blaine O’Driscoll in a fascinating clash that threatens to steal the show at Brave CF 54 on September 25.
Mokaev has made a perfect start to his professional MMA career, and currently stands at 4-0, with a combined amateur and professional record of 26-0.
And, after learning of the arrival of Ireland’s O’Driscoll in Brave CF, “The Punisher” wasted no time in calling out the 13-fight veteran.
O’Driscoll made his Brave debut in a unanimous decision defeat to Jose Torres in a bantamweight bout at Brave CF 49 in March.
But, since that defeat, the Irishman has targeted a move down to the 125-pound flyweight division, and Mokaev said he’d love to face him as he looks to drop drown.
“Welcome to [the] BRAVE CF flyweight roster,” Mokaev wrote on Instagram. “Let’s dance?”
O’Driscoll responded swiftly, replying, “Sounds good to me.”
It didn’t take Brave CF officials to see the opportunity and the fight was booked, with the pair set to face off in a 59-kilo (130-pound) catchweight contest in the co-main event on September 25.
The flyweight division has been one of Brave CF’s big success stories in recent times, with the promotion’s flyweight world title tournament approaching its conclusion.
Torres will take on Ali Bagautinov in the remaining semi-final clash, with the winner set to face off against Velimurad Alkhasov in the championship finale.
Both Mokaev and O’Driscoll will have their sights set on the eventual winner of that tournament, and both know that victory on September 25 will position them perfectly for a title tilt later this year or early in 2022.
O’Driscoll raised the temperature ahead of the eagerly anticipated matchup with Mokaev during an interview with Brave CF colour commentator Phill Campbell, stating that he’d shut down the British-Dagestani’s vaunted wrestling game when they face off inside the Brave CF cage.
“I saw that someone said that I was going to get tickets or something from Dagestani Airlines, right?” he began.
“I think I’m gonna put Dagestani Airlines out of business. I’m coming to win, man. Every single time.”
The event will be headlined by a battle for the Brave CF lightweight title, as reigning champion Amin Ayoub takes on Ahmed Amir.
