It’s on. Darren Till successfully made weight for his title fight against UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley ahead of UFC 228.
Till weighed in a pound under the 170-pound limit at 169, while Woodley weighed in at 170 after an initial scales scare which said he weighed one pound over.
Till missed weight by three pounds in his previous contest against Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. Because of this, Kamaru Usman was brought in as an alternate fighter for Till should he miss weight. Earlier in the day, Usman also weighed in at 169 pounds.

Given the scrutiny Till was under for his past failed weight cuts, the Liverpudlian stuck out two middle fingers to those who doubted his preparation as he emphatically made weight for his first UFC title fight.
However, it wasn’t all positive news for the two title fights proposed for UFC 228.
UFC women’s flyweight champion Nicco Montano was reportedly hospitalised this morning before the weigh-ins ahead of her championship bout against feared striker Valentina Shevchenko.
Valentina Shevchenko will not fight tomorrow, per multiple sources. Second time in a little over a year she sees a title fight get canceled hours before the event (UFC 213).

While Shevchenko successfully made weight, reports suggest she will not be competing at UFC 228 tomorrow night as a result of Montano being deemed unfit to fight.
