ONE Fight Night 14 has received its first official batch of bouts, and the fight card is set to feature four prominent female fights across four disciplines when it goes down on Saturday, September 30.
The most significant bout of the evening will see ONE Championship favorite Stamp Fairtex battle South Korean veteran Ham Seo Hee for the ONE interim women’s atomweight world title.
The former two-sport World Champion is riding a three-fight winning streak across two disciplines in the promotion, with her most recent coming when ONE debuted in North America with ONE Fight Night 10 in May.
Her opponent Ham is also enjoying a strong wave of momentum in ONE Championship and is currently sitting unbeaten in the atomweight MMA division.
“Hamzzang” claimed back-to-back decision wins against Denice Zamboanga in 2021 and 2022 before she made it three wins in a row with victory over Itsuki Hirata in March.
The top-ranked atomweight contenders’ paths will cross for interim gold on September 30th, as they wait out the understandable absence of ONE women’s atomweight world champion Angela Lee.
The co-main event at ONE Fight Night 14 will see ONE strawweight Muay Thai queen Smilla Sundell defend her crown for the first time against American striker Jackie Buntan in a rematch over a year in the making.
The pair first met to contest the inaugural World Title at ONE 156 in April 2022, with Sundell outstriking Buntan over five rounds to earn the unanimous decision victory at only 17 years old.
This time around, though, Buntan will be riding a two-fight winning streak, so there’s every chance she’ll bring the fight to her Swedish foe.
The 26-year-old bested longtime rival Amber Kitchen last December at ONE on Prime Video 5 then knocked out Diandra Martin one round at ONE Fight Night 10.
Meanwhile, Sundell has enjoyed a dominant streak in ONE, sitting pretty with three wins in a row and showing no signs of slowing down.
Now 18, she was last seen in kickboxing action this past May at ONE Friday Fights 18, where she cruised to a unanimous decision win over Milana Bjelogrlic.
Also announced for the card is a battle for the inaugural ONE atomweight submission grappling world title between Danielle Kelly and Jessa Khan.
The two Brazilian jiu-jitsu sensations will meet in the highly anticipated contest that is sure to be fireworks. While the world title tussle will mark Khan’s debut, American star Kelly has greatly showcased her talents on the global stage, earning back-to-back wins against Mariia Molchanova and Ayaka Miura.
ONE will also bring another innovative special rules bout to the 30th September event, as strawweight MMA queen Xiong Jing Nan takes on Thai star Nat “Wondergirl” Jaroonsak in 4-ounce gloves but with only punches permitted.
With two seasoned strikers taking part, this boxing-only contest will undoubtedly showcase why ONE is setting the standard for rule-bending contests in the combat sports world.
