UFC heavyweight champion and consensus ‘baddest man on the planet’, Stipe Miocic will have the opportunity to avenge one of only two losses on his record when he defends the belt against Junior dos Santos at UFC 211 in Dallas, Texas this spring.
One of the standout performers of 2016, Miocic is currently shortlisted in the Fighters Only World MMA Awards’ ‘Charles Mask Lewis Fighter of the Year’ following successive first round knockout wins over Andrei Arlovski, Fabricio Werdum – for the title – and Alistair Overeem last year.
After having his own championship reign cut short in 2013, JDS has fought just once a year since. In 2014 he became only the second man ever to defeat Miocic, but the following year he was TKO’d by Overeem halting his title charge. While a sole points victory over Ben Rothwell was his only outing in 2016.
First reported by Combate in Brazil, the report states the UFC 211 main event is heading for the American Airlines Center in Dallas on May 13th.
