Brave CF’s featherweight division takes center stage at Brave CF 72 as 145-pound champion Roman Bogatov puts his title on the line against Nemal Abdrashitov in Riffa, Bahrain.
Both men are undefeated under the Brave CF banner, with that promotional “0” at risk when the pair face off on Friday, June 23.
Bogatov has lost just once in his career, and the champion is keen to keep it that way as he bids to claim the 14th win of his professional MMA career. His grappling and wrestling abilities, teamed with outstanding conditioning, have helped establish him as the man to beat at 145 pounds. Recent wins over Nurzhan Akishev, Abdulmutalip Gairbekov and Tae Kyun Kim have cemented his status as the division’s top dog.
But on June 23 he faces a new challenge in the form of Kyrgysztan’s Abdrashitov. The 31-year-old has a career record of 18 wins, eight losses, and heads into his title challenge in outstanding form.
Abdrashitov is riding a six-fight win streak, with all six coming inside the distance, and none passing the 2:50 mark of the second round. That run of form started with back-to-back first-round submissions, but since then it’s been TKOs and KOs all the way, with his last three victories coming inside the Brave CF cage. Equally adept at finishing fights on the feet or on the ground, Abdrashitov will present danger to the champion wherever the fight goes.
It promises to be a fascinating encounter as a champion who loves to drag his opponents into deep water faces off against a challenger who relentlessly pursues the finish.
