After his originally-planned outing was scrapped due to illness, reigning Cage Warriors flyweight champion Sam “Urai” Creasey has been swiftly rebooked for the promotion’s end-of-year event.
Creasey was due to compete at the promotion’s latest “Unplugged” event, Cage Warriors 147, which takes place Sunday, November 20 at the BT Sport Studios in Stratford, London. But after an illness took his title bout with Shajidul Haque off the fight card, Cage Warriors officials moved quickly to reschedule the bout.
The pair will now face off in a featured bout at Cage Warriors 148: Team Europe vs. Team USA, which takes place New Year’s Eve at the Indigo at The O2 in London.
Cage Warriors informed Fighters Only of the rebooking, and revealed a host of other matchups that have been added to the December 31 fight card.
American knockout artist Justin Barry will take on Italy’s Dario Bellandi, looking to add to his highlight-reel crescent-kick KO from last year.
Also announced is a featherweight bout between Tobias Harila and Damon Wilson, while former bantamweight title challenger Nathan Fletcher returns to action against Italy’s Alessandro Giordano.
The event, which features a bar and DJ until 1am for ticket holders, plus a private afterparty until 3am with the fighters for Kings Row ticket holders, will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.
