The UFC’s first title fight of 2022 could serve up one of the most exciting championship matchups of the year as Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo get set to throw down for the third time.
Both of the flyweight rivals’ previous meetings came in title fights, with the first bout finishing in a majority draw and the rematch going Moreno’s way after the Mexican submitted the Brazilian via third-round rear-naked choke to become the first Mexican-born champion in UFC history.
Now the pair are set to meet for a third time, with former champ Figueiredo out for revenge, while Moreno is looking to cement his status as the world’s premier 125-pound fighter.
It’s a matchup that could deliver a spectacular, fast-paced battle, and it forms the co-main event of UFC 270 on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
