The UFC octagon lands in Salt Lake City, Utah as UFC 278 brings a stacked card of fights to the Vivint Arena on Saturday, August 20.
Headlining the event is a rematch for the undisputed UFC welterweight title, as England’s Leon Edwards challenges the last man to defeat him, reigning undisputed 170-pound champion and pound-for-pound No. 1 fighter, Kamaru Usman.
There are championship ramifications at play in the co-main event, as former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold looks to force himself back into title contention at 185 pounds by defeating power-punching former title challenger Paulo Costa.
And there’s also a crucial clash in the UFC’s bantamweight division, as legendary former featherweight champion Jose Aldo faces off against surging contender Merab Dvalishvili, with both men eyeing a future shot at the 135-pound strap.
Ahead of the event, the UFC’s “Embedded” cameras are following the fighters behind the scenes as they work their way through fight week, from their final moments at home to their arrival in Salt Lake City and their media obligations before the weigh-ins and the final faceoffs before fight night itself.
As described on the UFC’s official YouTube channel, on Episode 1, “Luke Rockhold supports teammate Chito Vera’s main event in San Diego. Champ Kamaru Usman hones his skills, then watches the fights with his training partner, Justin Gaethje. Leon Edwards lands in Salt Lake.”
