The UFC’s first pay-per-view event of 2023 features a battle for the vacant light heavyweight title, plus the fourth installment of the epic rivalry between the two best flyweights on the planet.
The headline act of UFC 283 will see Brazil’s own Glover Teixeira heading home to challenge for the light heavyweight title he once held as he takes on a man making his first tilt at a UFC title, Contender Series graduate and surging knockout artist Jamahal Hill as the UFC looks to address the vacancy at the top of their 205-pound division.
The co-main event could serve up an early contender for “Fight of the Year” as reigning UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo and interim champion Brandon Moreno get set to face off for the fourth time in their epic rivalry, with the scoreline between the pair standing at 1-1 with one draw.
There’s also a big fight at welterweight, as Gilbert Burns looks to push himself into the title conversation at 170 pounds. He faces Neil Magny, who has won more fights in the UFC welterweight division than any other fighter in history.
Ahead of the event, the UFC’s “Embedded” cameras are following the fighters behind the scenes as they work their way through fight week, as they arrive in Rio and go through their pre-fight media obligations before the weigh-ins and the final faceoffs ahead of fight night.
As described on the UFC’s official YouTube channel, on Episode 4, “Champ Alex Pereira trains with Glover Teixeria. Champ Brandon Moreno gives photo tips to Jamahal Hill. Deiveson Figueiredo talks to media. Minotauro Nogueria watches faceoffs.”
