The final obligations have been completed and the fight card is set for UFC 293 in Australia, as the undisputed middleweight title takes center stage in Sydney.
The main event will see reigning 185-pound champion Israel Adesanya take on American challenger Sean Strickland in a bout that has seen plenty of trash talk in the build-up. But both men were all business on the scale as they made weight – Adesanya at 184.8 pounds, and Strickland at 184.9 pounds – to make their championship bout official.
The remainder of the main card made weight without issue, with just one weight miss coming further down the card, as Shane Young arrived on the scale 3.75 pounds over the non-title limit for his featherweight bout with Gabriel Miranda. UFC officials confirmed that Young would be fined 30 percent of his purse, and the fight will continue as scheduled.
