Packed with title, dripping with titles, mats rammed on a daily basis, the best gyms in the world are also some of the most competitive and shortlisting just five every year is always a chore. Here are the shortlisted facilities for the Ninth Annual Fighters Only World MMA Awards’ ‘Gym of the Year’ to help you pick out your winner.

 American Top Team

With multiple champions now residing with the gym in Coconut Creek, Florida, including UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk, bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes and welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, ATT now boasts more UFC title holders than any other gym in the world.

SBG Ireland

When you’re home to the only two-weight UFC champion and the sport’s P4P star that usually means you have the right environment to cultivate a talent. That’s the case with SBG Ireland and their stallion, Conor McGregor, yet he’s far from alone and the gym have enjoyed their most fruitful year at home and abroad with more fighters and winners than ever before.

Jackson-Wink

One of the best gyms in the world, boasting some of the most well known fighters in the sport. Although they don’t currently have any UFC champions the likes of Donald Cerrone, reinvented as a welterweight, and Michelle Waterson, with that huge win over Paige VanZant, have ensured the planet’s most famous facility remains one of the most successful.

American Kickboxing Academy

With Daniel Cormier holding the UFC light heavyweight belt and with the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov continuing his undefeated streak in 2016, AKA is once again a force to be reckoned with. Other notable wins also included Cain Velasquez’s mauling of Travis Browne at the blockbuster UFC 200 event last summer. As usual with the San Jose hit squad, this gym is a couple of matchups away from homing multiple titles once again.

Team Alpha Male

It was a changing of the guard for Team Alpha Male this year. Urijah Faber may have bowed out with his win over Brad Pickett, but it was just a month later when Cody Garbrandt finally did what his TAM colleagues had failed to do so many times before; defeat Dominick Cruz to become UFC bantamweight champion. Garbrandt is the flag bearer of a new generation of fighters at TAM under talented head coach Justin Buchholz.
